It is a succulent with a typical compact rosette arrangement, similar in shape to a cup, consisting of very fleshy and pointed at the apex leaves, straight and facing upwards. The epidermis takes on a delicate bluish hue, which gives the name of the species, that in Spanish means "blue". The entire plant is covered with a whitish pruina, which gives it an opaque and elegant appearance and protects it in nature from atmospheric agents.
