A large shrub with dark purple leaves all season, small white flowers followed by reddish fruit which show well against the foliage, peeling papery bark; extremely tough and durable; can be pruned in all seasons, makes a great hedge
Ninebark will grow to be about 8 feet tall at maturity, with a spread of 8 feet. It has a low canopy, and is suitable for planting under power lines. It grows at a medium rate, and under ideal conditions can be expected to live for approximately 30 years.
